  • (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2018 - Webanywhere, a leading e-learning company is to host a nationwide seminar on ‘The impact of social media on young children, what can schools do?'.

It is a scary statistic but 83% of 12 to 15 year olds have a smartphone, and over half of all children by age 12 have a social media profile - according to Ofcom.

On March 16th, Elland Road will play host to over 200 teachers to address the growing concern over social media. The guest speakers include Tom Riordan, CEO of Leeds CIty Council, Emma Kenny, a Psychologist who regularly appears on ‘This Morning’, Zara Holland, Former Miss GB, Sophie Gradon, Former Love Island contestant and Rob Faulkner, a e-safety and security expert.

The NSPCC and Childline will also be in attendance to advice schools on how best to deal with a child who is getting bullied online or feeling the pressures of social media.

‘We felt it was important to have a real mix of personalities at the event and not shy away from people who have been bullied online. Some of our speakers are in a position to offer some really great advice to children on how to deal with online trolls’ Claire Morritt, Webanywhere.
