LED Expo comes to Mumbai to showcase high-quality LED lighting technologies to the Indian market
Exhibition to take place in India's financial capital, Mumbai from 7 - 9 May at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East.
- (1888PressRelease) April 08, 2015 - Describing LED lighting as a 'Prakash Path', Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, during the launch of the scheme for LED bulb distribution early this year, said that these programmes represent a challenge to manufacturers to rise to the occasion and produce LED bulbs without any compromise on quality. With an initiative to provide manufacturers a platform to showcase their high-quality and competitive lighting technologies, Messe Frankfurt India Trade Fairs Pvt. Ltd. announced the 12th edition of LED Expo in Mumbai, today. Well-renowned as India's largest International Exhibition on LED Lighting Products and Technology, LED Expo 2015 will take place in India's commercial capital, Mumbai from 7 - 9 May at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East.
Several LED Street-lighting pilot projects in India are under process or in the planning phase, wherein traditional streetlights are expected to be replaced by LED bulbs. Against this background, LED Expo - which is known to attract influential industry players and decision makers from commercial, retail and business sectors, urban and town planners, architects, interior designers, municipal corporations, energy service companies as well as regulatory bodies - will create an ideal arena for LED and lighting sector players to showcase their high-quality LED applications, lighting products, components, manufacturing equipment, machinery and allied products of competitive lighting technologies. This platform will cover solutions for architectural, automotive, residential, commercial and street lighting use, as well as decorative landscape and garden lighting.
The government's decision to switch to LED for all street lamps and public space lighting, coupled with environmental concerns, manufacturing capacity expansions and falling prices, means the Indian LED industry is expected to reach Rs 21,600 crore (USD 3.43 biliion) by 2020*. India's bright prospects have domestic and foreign investors making a beeline to tap into this lucrative market with the exhibition already having received confirmations from over 75 companies from Germany, India, Korea, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and the UAE. LED Expo will also see exclusive international pavilions from Taiwan and China which are eyeing the Indian market to showcase their LED and OLED solutions in lighting. The industry's prominent players such as FIEM Industries, MLS India , Maklites, Sigma Lighting, Led lighting Fixtures, Blue Led, Smartlight and LedLux among others will be exhibiting at the fair.
With power shortages still a cause of concern in India, energy and cost savings from LED can cut back more than 15% off the consumption of electricity and bring in big savings on government's energy expenditures. Combined with smart controls, LEDs can cut CO2 emissions by 50%** and bring in massive business savings for high power consuming sectors such as retail, hospitality, commercial, industrial and others. Leading the LED transition in India, LED Expo will allow business professionals to understand the benefits of LEDs, Solar LEDs and smart controls in lighting and see how they can cut energy costs for their business. Besides, the platform will offer visitors a chance to experience a host of exciting lighting designs and solutions on display.
LED Expo takes place annually in both Delhi and Mumbai, in December and May respectively, and is the only event in the industry focused solely on LED products. The exhibition is headed by the biennial Light + Building event, which will take place from 13 - 18 March 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany.
