Leavenworth Hosts 5k Obstacle Mud Run, Bavarian Battle on May 5th
Leavenworth, Washington, will host an obstacle mud run at Leavenworth Ski Hill on May 5th. The all-day 5k run event will also include live music, a beer garden and food concessions. Racers receive prizes, shirt, hat and costume awards.
- Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) April 19, 2012 - The 5k course of the Bavarian Battle will take place at the Leavenworth Ski Hill on Saturday, May 5th, along pre-existing trails in cooperation with the US Forest Service.
Racers will find more than a dozen obstacles including a tire field, mud "swim" under electric wires, snow "skirmish" crawl, cargo net climbs, foam "frenzy", slippery slides and much more.
The racers will be individually timed but are encouraged to register with friends and enter into the group costume contest. Race registration includes a complimentary beverage, event t-shirt and Bavarian hat.
Registration fees start at $65. Race intervals start at 9 a.m. The finish line will offer live music, bratwursts and local brews until 7 p.m.
For the first annual production of the Bavarian Battle the organizers hope to register 500 racers. Proceeds will benefit the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.
