Learning Light reveals the current top three trends in e-learning in the UK
David Patterson, operations director of Learning Light, the Sheffield-based organisation which focuses on promoting the use of e-learning and learning technologies, is going to reveal the current top three trends in the UK's e-learning market.
- (1888PressRelease) March 17, 2011 - Patterson will reveal these trends at a seminar organised by Webanywhere Ltd, an international organisation which provides online learning technology and website solutions to educational, business and not-for-profit organisations. The seminar takes place from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday 30th March at the Queen's Hotel, in the City Square in Leeds.
Called 'It's All Training
Isn't It? How Open Source and web 2.0 technologies are enabling open business learning models', the seminar will also feature presentations by Glynn Jung, of Learning Leadership, who will discuss 'Disruptive technologies and the opportunities and threats to corporate training' and Ray O'Connor, Learning & Development Manager at Addleshaw Goddard, who will offer 'an integrated and blended approach to management development'.
The seminar's organiser, George Donovan, of Webanywhere, commented: "Web 2.0 technologies deliver new possibilities for extending enterprise efficiency. In particular, the corporate training / learning & development function is being transformed by 'disruptive' 2.0 technologies such as open source, open content and rapid content development which blend traditional instructor-led learning with online courses, quizzes, social media and networking tools.
"Open source platforms deliver open business models and the agility to meet training and compliance demands head-on without incurring any of the licensing, support and integration costs of expensive proprietary enterprise portal software.
"The event in Leeds on 30th March - which is sponsored by the e-learning company DeltaNet International Limited - will examine the opportunities and issues that enterprise 2.0 solutions are creating for organisations," he said. "In particular, we'll be looking at how HR, training and compliance departments are applying these disruptive technologies to transform enterprise teaching, learning and management development - and save costs."
The seminar at the Queen's Hotel in Leeds is the first of a regular series of bi-monthly events organised by Webanywhere and scheduled to examine different aspects of learning technologies.
Attendance at all these events will be free - although potential delegates are urged to pre-book by emailing corporate ( @ ) webanywhere dot co dot uk or telephoning George Donovan on 0800 862 0131 dot
