Leading colocation provider C4L is pleased to announce the launching of IPv6 across their data centre network, the largest privately owned data centre network in the UK.
(1888PressRelease) October 06, 2009 - The UK’s largest privately owned data centre network and colocation provider C4L is proud to announce the launch of IPv6 across all of its networks. This next step continues C4L’s goal to be on the leading edge of connectivity in the UK data centre market. Furthermore, this news makes C4L the UK’s largest IPv6 and IPv4 data centre footprint network provider.
The Internet World has been using the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) for the last two decades and has experienced tremendous success, hence the primary reason for the Internet community adopting IPv6 is one of space. IPv4 has a finite amount of address space which, thanks to the Internet’s rapid growth, is soon to run out. The exponentially larger amount of addresses within IPv6 will facilitate the Internet’s continuing growth. C4L is now offering IPv6 as standard at no additional charge. Customers will now be given the option of IPv6 addresses, and current customers requiring further IP addresses will also be offered the opportunity to use them.
C4L is the chosen provider for many of the UK’s largest bandwidth and connectivity providers for their data centre footprints. With the addition of IPv6 to C4L’s network, customers in virtually any UK data centre now have an increased number of providers they can get IPv6 services from such as NTT and Tinet (formerly Tiscali).
C4L continues to expand its network and be a market leader in the data centre connectivity industry and can now provide its range of services to over 30 colocation data centres across the UK. The services now available in all of these data centres include; C4L Partial Transit, C4L Multihomed IP Transit, direct Tier 1 connectivity to multiple providers, Interconnects, multi data centre VPN’s, direct connectivity to L2TP providers, direct connectivity to major Internet exchanges including AMS-IX, LINX, LONAP and MANAP, secure off site data storage and wholesale VoIP.
The network provider has invested well over £1 million on its core network alone to support its platform, connecting millions of users and customers over its network every day. Providing services such as colocation, IP Transit, Interconnect, Data Backup and VoIP across 26 data centre locations including, Amsterdam, London, Manchester and Derby, this also makes C4L one of the largest independent Internet Service Providers in the UK.
C4L is unique in that it can provide aggregated billing across all of its connected data centres and multiple network providers. This provides substantial savings for its customer base over going direct to Tier 1 and circuit providers for connectivity.
With the recent additions to the data centre network, C4L portfolio includes; C4L Bournemouth, Slough, BlueSquare Maidenhead, BlueSquare Milton Keynes, Telehouse Metro, Telehouse North, Telehouse East, City Lifeline, InterXion, Telecity Meridian Gate, Harbour Exchange 2, Telecity Harbour Exchange 6&7, Telecity Harbour Exchange 8&9, Greenwich, IP House, Park Royal, Node 4 Derby, Node 4 Wakefield, Byfleet, Open Hosting Manchester, UK Grid Manchester, IFL Manchester, Iomart, Level 3 Goswell Road, Global Switch 1, Global Switch 2, Telecity Kilburn House, Telecity Williams House, Telecity Bonnington House, EasyNet, TATA Stratford, Telecity 2 Amsterdam.
C4L’s other core service includes co-location. As a major co-location provider and data centre builder, C4L provides savings over going direct to data centres through its substantial buying power. It also enables customers to use C4L as a single one stop shop for colocation, connectivity, disaster recovery and data storage.
