Leading Triangle Sports Radio Stations Announce Expanded High School Football Lineup
99.9 FM The Fan and 620 AM The Buzz release fall schedule for local high school sports broadcasts.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) August 26, 2010 - Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) has released its expanded fall high school football radio schedule for both 99.9 FM The Fan - ESPN Radio (WCMC) and 620 AM The Buzz (WDNC). The new lineup is highlighted by plans to simulcast WRAL-TV's award winning Friday Night Football with Tom Suiter live on 99.9 FM The Fan for the first time ever on Triangle sports radio.
The weekly Friday night lineup includes the half-hour pre-game show, High School Game Night, hosted by James Alverson, followed by complete play-by-play coverage of the High School Game of the Week with Drew Smith and Jerod Brooks live on 620 AM The Buzz. Friday Night Football will be simulcast live at 11:35 p.m. on 99.9 FM The Fan.
On Saturday mornings, High School OT with Chris Morris on 99.9 FM The Fan will provide fans with a complete breakdown of the week's game schedule along with recaps, scores, interviews and more.
"There are some great high school football rivalries in the area and we are excited to bring live coverage of a game of the week each Friday night," says Dave Shore, operations manager of CBC's sports radio properties. "From the on-site pre-game show to the weekly wrap-up on Saturday mornings, we'll have more local high school football coverage this fall than ever before. We're excited for the upcoming season and will be working hard to pick the best game each week to broadcast live for our listeners."
The Game of the Week schedule for the first four weeks of the season is as follows:
• August 20** - Millbrook vs. Garner, coverage begins at 6:30 p.m.
• August 27** - Panther Creek vs. Jordan, coverage begins at 7 p.m.
• September 3** - Garner vs. Middle Creek, coverage begins at 7 p.m.
• September 10 - Cary vs. Fuquay-Varina, coverage begins at 7 p.m.

Matchups and locations for High School Game Night and Game of the Week coverage beyond September 10 will be determined as the season progresses.
