Leading Lawn Care Company Honored as Military Friendly Franchise
Weed Man Ranks in the Top 10 Percent of all Franchisors.
- (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2013 - CLEVELAND - Weed Man USA, North America's leading lawn care franchise company, continues to position itself as a franchise with a strong commitment to supporting military veterans. The combination of the financial incentives Weed Man offers to military veterans along with the community initiatives that support military families, led the company to be recognized as a 2013 Military Friendly Franchise by G.I. Jobs magazine.
The Weed Man franchise honors military veterans by offering service members a discount of 25 percent off the franchise fee, allowing veterans to use their background and training to launch a new civilian career. The initiative is in support of the Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (VetFran), a voluntary effort of International Franchise Association (IFA) member-companies to provide franchise business opportunities to honorably discharged veterans transitioning to civilian life or seeking a career change.
"It is an honor to be selected as a Military Friendly Franchise for the second year in a row by G.I.Jobs," said Jennifer Lemcke, Chief Operating Officer of Weed Man USA. "Some of our best franchisees include military veterans because of their organized, disciplined and determined characteristics that suit them well for franchising."
There are more than 265 Weed Man territories across the nation providing environmentally responsible fertilization, weed control and integrated pest management services, and the company is expanding rapidly. The company has a strong focus on franchise development with a centralized focus to reach growth goals. Weed Man is currently focusing development efforts across the entire United States and is confident that they will achieve these goals.
Chris Rolen, a Weed Man franchisee located in Loveland, CO, spent eight years on active duty in the Army, including a 2002 deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After completing his active duty services, Rolen knew that he wanted to open his own business in addition to completing an additional eight years in the Army Reserves. He turned to VetFran when he decided to open a Weed Man franchise and received a 25 percent veteran's discount. He opened Weed Man in January 2012 and participates in a non-profit organization called Project EverGreen, whose mission is to preserve and enhance green space throughout the community. As part of the organization's GreenCare for Troops programs, he provides lawn care services to a military family for one year free of charge.
"The benefit of investing in a franchise like Weed Man is that I have a large support system behind me every step of the way," said Rolen. "Every franchisee in the system understands the challenges and we are all there to assist each other in attaining our goals."
The 2013 Military Friendly Franchises® list was compiled via a data-driven survey overseen by an advisory board of industry experts. The survey results list were independently tested by Ernst & Young based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.
