Lawrence S. Halperin, M.D., of Orlando Orthopaedic Center was installed on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) on March 13. AAOS has more than 18,000 active orthopedic surgeons as members in the U.S.A., and almost 38,000 members worldwide.

DrHalperin graduated from medical school in 1984, and completed his postgraduate residency and fellowship in 1990. He has worked at Orlando Orthopaedic Center since then. DrHalperin has been Chief of Orthopedics at Lucerne Hospital. He has served on the Executive Committees of the Orange County Medical Society and the Florida Orthopedic Society. DrHalperin recently completed a term as Chairman of the Academy's Advocacy Resource Committee. In that position he helped to stage the Freshman Congressional Healthcare briefings in early 2013.
Dr. Halperin is very concerned about the changes in healthcare delivery. He has served on Congressman Feeney's Healthcare Advisory Panel and on Congressman Session's Healthcare Policy Forum.
