- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2012 - The Los Angeles School of Gymnastics is proud to present Olympic hopeful Heather Chan perform at the Academy and Meet Expo 2012. Friends, neighbors and families are all invited to watch their favorite gymnasts on Sunday, November 4, 2012 1-3pm. This will be a great event to watch our young stars shine in this competition styled meet hosted at our own award winning gymnasium at 8450 Higuera St., Culver City. Also, everyone who supports the meet expo will have a chance to see our very own Olympic hopeful Heather Chan perform. Heather just recently returned from the Olympic training facility in Huntsville, Tx. She has put a lot of time and dedication into her training and we all have the benefit of watching her perform. Heather has been working primarily with LASG's Coach Diana Mkhitaryan and showed great promise at the Olympic training facility. She was selected as one of the top 20 gymnasts aged 14 years old and under.
The event offers the competitors a chance to showcase their hard work and dedication. Although competitors will be scored and judged similar to a normal meet, the pressure will be lightened as this is an "everybody wins" event. All competitors will be awarded medals for their outstanding effort. This is a great opportunity for our younger gymnasts who have never participated in a meet to gain exposure and experience without fear of failing. Performing during meets can be very nerve racking for our younger gymnasts and our meet expo cultivates a positive atmosphere without discouraging future performances. We have a long history of maximizing our student's potential and the expo is one of the many stepping stones encouraged by our school. These are exciting times for the school and hope everyone will come support our meet expo. We have put a lot of effort into making this event as successful as possible.
