The Las Olas Art Fair returns for part two of this wildly popular award-winning show, March 5 - 6, 2011. Festival goers return each year and look forward to seeing longtime favorites as well as new and emerging talent. Admission is free and open to the public.
One of the festival goers, winner of the 2011 March Las Olas Art Fair Getaway Contest, will be traveling from Detroit, Michigan courtesy Spirit Airlines to enjoy the Las Olas Art Fair. The contest, sponsored by festival producer Howard Alan Events and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau drew more than 14,000 entries. Prizes include a 2-night weekend stay for two at the Riverside Hotel, $250 art dollars from Howard Alan Events to spend while at the art show, two official art fair posters, a Kilwin's Specialty Basket as well as dinner for two courtesy Mango's Restaurant & Lounge.
This two-day event features the work of 300 of today's top local, regional and national artists. The artists, who will be present for the duration of the show, will line Las Olas Boulevard with their professional display booths, transforming the area into a first-class outdoor art gallery.
"This show is a tradition and festival goers keep coming back because of the quality art created by some of the most interesting and talented artists in the country," says festival promoter Howard Alan. "There is something new to see at each festival and you can't find a finer setting than Las Olas Boulevard."
The artists were juried by an independent panel of expert judges, and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America.
With its casual outdoor setting, boasting fine boutiques, great restaurants and fabulous city atmosphere, the Las Olas Art Fair Part II makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photos, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics. with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $50,000 metal sculptures. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.
