Lanner Launches its Most Compact, Power-saving Vehicle Gateway LVC-1000 with Intel Quark Processor
For the past few years, embedded vehicle computing systems have tipped in the market as users demand higher levels of efficiency, safety and infotainment. Interior spacing and power supply are major concerns when deploying a vehicle computer.
- (1888PressRelease) March 11, 2015 - To respond to this issue, Lanner, a global leading manufacturer in network appliances and gateway solutions, has launched its most compact and power-efficient embedded vehicle gateway, named LVC-1000. The ultra compact gateway system is built with low power-consuming Intel® Quark SoC X1001 CPU, rich I/O connectors and proven ruggedness, ideal for transportation sector.
With the dimensions of 162.8 x 41 x 133.8 mm only, LVC-1000 can be easily fitted in most types of vehicle interiors, even for highly restricted interior spacing. This is so far the most compact form factor by Lanner. Along with the small size, LVC-1000 is driven by Intel® Quark SoC X1001 CPU. The micro architectural processor offers incredibly low power consumption, ideal for transportation sector where power supplies are limited.
As vehicles are usually encountered with non-flat surfaces, LVC-1000 comes with proven ruggedness with MIL-STD-810G and E13 (E-Mark) certifications for shock and vibration resistance as well as extended temperature operability. In addition, there is an onboard accelerometer for collision and rollover detection to ensure driving safety.
Regarding connections with peripheral devices, LVC-1000 comes with rich I/O connectors and flexible expansion. For wireless connectivity, the gateway controller features two mini-PCIe sockets for Wi-Fi and 3G modules. In addition, LVC-1000 is designed with one 10/100 GbE PoE (Power-Over-Ethernet) ports for networking devices such as IP cameras. For driver behavior analysis, LVC-1000 provides an optional high-speed CAN bus and a fault-tolerant CAN following J1939/1708 protocols.
With comprehensive features, LVC-1000 is definitely the cloud platform for IoT applications in transportation sectors, such as fleet management and vehicle management systems.
