- (1888PressRelease) August 02, 2010 - Norcross, GA - LAN Systems, a leading Atlanta Computer Support company, ( www.lansystems.com ) supported the Gwinnett Braves 50/50 Raffle as the volunteer for Rainbow Village. The Gwinnett Braves offer non-profit organizations in the metro-Atlanta area the opportunity to raise money for their charity. Volunteers from LAN Systems ( www.lansystems.com ) sold raffle tickets for the benefit of Rainbow Village and the Braves Foundation.
The staff at LAN Systems ( www.lansystems.com ) volunteers their time and talents to help Rainbow Village in their service to the community. Since 1991, Rainbow Village has worked to break the cycles of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence in the Duluth, Gwinnett, and north Metro-Atlanta areas. Rainbow Village's transitional housing program has helped many homeless families with children achieve self-sufficiency and reclaim their dignity. All school aged children in the Rainbow Village community attend the After School Program which provides academic and emotional support to the children.
"Working with Rainbow Village has been an inspiration to us all," said Mary Hester, LAN Systems ( www.lansystems.com ) Chairman and CEO. "The stories of those that have completed the program are moving and heartwarming. It is certainly good to know that there are people and places like Rainbow Village that give so unselfishly of themselves. We are proud to be a small part of their great success."
Georgia ranks 49th in the nation in child homelessness. The ranking scale is 1 as the best and 50 the worst. More than 58,397 of Georgia's children experience homelessness and of the 500,000 children living in poverty in Georgia, twelve out of every one hundred (12%) are homeless.
