Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) April 27, 2009 - COMMUNITY residents are invited to recycle their new or "gently worn" shoes for children in need . Just because they are kids do not mean they only need small sizes. Some 5th and 6th graders actually wear adult sizes says Shoes4School director, Leola Anifowoshe.
For a limited time, April 27 to May 7, LakeView Montessori will be collecting your new or gently worn footwear, backpacks and/or donations to distribute the shoes to a child in need, whether they are victims of a natural disaster or subject to living in poverty, in some instances extreme poverty. It is estimated that Americans have well over 1 billion pairs of unused shoes sitting in their closets. The shoe charity can use each and every one of these pairs to make a substantial difference in a child’s life.
Clarissa Guidry, Director of LakeView Montessori says that they are excited to host this shoe drive and that the teachers, parents and kids of their school will do their best to make it a huge success. She said that they wanted to do something very special and assist a charity where they can get as involved as they wanted too, including helping to distribute shoes to Kids In Need.
If you are in their area and want to assist them in this shoe drive, please contact Clarrisa at LakeView at 281-494-2667 or you can visit them on the web at http://www.lakeviewmontessorionthehill.com
