Accreditation helps to enhance quality and safety of care.
- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) March 26, 2018 - Lakeview Health at The Woodlands has received behavioral health care accreditation from The Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies health care organizations and programs throughout the United States. The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that shows Lakeview Health’s commitment to excellence in clinical, medical and administrative performance standards. Lakeview Health is also licensed by the state of Texas Health and Human Services Commission.
“Pursuing this prestigious accreditation from The Joint Commission is just another example of how we go above and beyond to make sure our quality of care and safety standards are second to none,” said Alan Goodstat, chief compliance officer at Lakeview Health. “The surveyor reviewed our processes for helping individuals find their path from addiction to recovery. I am proud of the work of our entire team at The Woodlands. This accreditation brings another level of credibility to our facility and reinforces why we are a nationally-recognized addiction treatment and recovery center.”
The Joint Commission evaluated Lakeview Health at The Woodlands and conducted a customized, intensive review of the facility. The surveyor looked over data and reviewed the actual care processes used at Lakeview Health to help those seeking treatment for substance use and psychiatric disorders.
The Joint Commission’s patient-focused accreditation process was created to organize and strengthen patient safety, provide professional advice and counsel, to enhance staff education, recruitment, and development, and to strengthen community confidence in the quality of care provided by the facility. The Joint Commission was established to continuously improve health care for the public.
“Joint Commission accreditation provides behavioral health care organizations with the processes needed to improve in a variety of areas related to the care of individuals and their families,” said Julia Finken, RN, BSN, MBA, CSSBB, CPHQ, executive director, Behavioral Health Care Accreditation Program, The Joint Commission. “We commend Lakeview Health at The Woodlands for its efforts to elevate the standard of care it provides and to instill confidence in the community it serves.”
