LACE by Jenny Wu Announces Launch and Exhibition at Aqua Art Miami
The high end, 3D printed jewelry line will debut its new collection at Miami Art Week beginning December 3, 2014.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) November 20, 2014 - Internationally celebrated architect, Jenny Wu, announced today the official public launch of her 3D printed wearable designs, LACE by Jenny Wu. The collection, now available for purchase online at www.JennyWuLACE.com, will make its debut at Aqua Art Miami this December as a pop-up exhibition/shop in the main courtyard space.
Prompted by her success as an architect, designer and partner at the award-winning design and architecture firm, Oyler Wu Collaborative, Jenny launched her line, taking her artistic eye to the jewelry industry. The LACE by Jenny Wu collection reflects Wu's architectural aesthetic, marrying line-based geometry with intricate organic movement to create avant-garde designs that make a statement.
The collection, priced from $40-$1,000, features over 25 different styles and pieces composed of necklaces, earrings and rings. Two lines of 3D printed designs comprise the collection; "Experimental" features jewelry in nylon and thermoplastic polyurethane and the "Premium" line offers pieces in silver.
"Jewelry is an art form and I went about designing and creating my collection as I would my architectural projects," said Jenny. "Sketching out experimental designs and then using innovative fabrication methods, such as 3D printing, to bring to life unconventional geometries with unique material qualities.."
Presented by Industry Gallery for the fair, Jenny will exhibit and sell her pieces at this year's Aqua Art Miami, taking place December 3-7 as part of Art Miami's international contemporary art fair. The tenth annual fair, located at the Aqua South Beach hotel, is renowned for its relaxed vibe and attendance by influential collectors and art professionals.
"While attending Art Basel 2013, prior to the creation of LACE by Jenny Wu, I received a lot of interest from wearing my designs that I was just making for myself at the time," said Jenny. "Aqua Art Miami is the perfect place to debut my collection, not just for the esteemed opportunity to present my work there, but for the significance the event has for LACE by Jenny Wu as well."
Jenny Wu, a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, established Oyler Wu Collaborative in 2004 with fellow architect Dwayne Oyler. The firm specializes in experimental and progressive projects, one of their most recent being The Cube, a 3-dimensional installation for the Beijing Biennale.
