Laboratory Testing Inc. Chosen to Host NCSL International Meeting
Laboratory Testing Inc. is hosting the 2014 NCSLI Philadelphia Section on October 23rd. The meeting will feature three presentations on metrology and calibration topics by Greg Strouse, Scott Mimbs and Joshua Biggar, and conclude with a tour of LTI's facilities.

(LTI) will be hosting a National Conference of Standards Laboratories International (NCSLI) Philadelphia Section meeting on Thursday, October 23. The meeting will focus on risk assessment, measurement uncertainty for pressure and metrology updates from NIST. Meeting arrangements are being organized jointly by the calibration and metrology staff at Laboratory Testing Inc., Marcus McNeely, NCSLI Regional Coordinator and Phil Smith of A2LA.
Registration is free of charge, and will cover the full-day of events including meeting topics, three presentations and a tour of LTI's materials testing and calibration facilities.

Presentations:
1) "Who needs calibrations anyway?"
Greg Strouse, Leader of NIST's Temperature and Humidity Group, will explore examples of how NIST measurement services are evolving to meet the needs of the ever-changing manufacturing landscape.
2) "Metrology and the Consequences of Bad Measurement Decisions"
Scott Mimbs, former leader of NASA's Metrology and Calibration Program, will demonstrate the influence of metrology throughout the phases of product development and will illustrates the negative consequences when one or more of metrology's elements fail.
3) "An Uncertainty Analysis of Fluke Calibration Fused-Quartz Bourdon Tube Pressure Products"
Joshua Biggar, Metrologist at Fluke Calibration, will explain the unique facets of Quartz Bourdon Tube technology, basis of operation and available uncertainty classes.
