Lab42 Survey Uncovers Huge Popularity Of Social Games
Through an online survey to Facebook users, Lab42 has determined that there is huge popularity in social gaming. Specifically, Farmville and Mafia Wars are where the most interest lies.

According to Lab42, social games have grown to be incredibly popular and commonly played. Almost all Facebook users take part in social gaming-only an astounding 5% of Facebook users do not play any type of social game. Furthermore, people devote almost 25% of their time on Facebook to playing social games.
In terms of which social games are the most popular, the survey reveals Farmville to be the most popular game among men and women, with 18% of men playing and 21% of women. Mafia Wars is the second-most played game on Facebook for males, with 17% of men playing.
According to the same study, another immensely popular social game is Foursquare. The report indicates that 68% of men aged 18 - 35 have at least tried Foursquare, and 50% play it on a regular basis. For the men surveyed who do choose to not play Foursquare, 32% say that it is too time consuming to play, and 21% say that they do not see a point to the game.
