LA Documentary featured at Washougal International Film Fest, August 18-22
A new documentary, Trans/Formed by Cleo Valente will be featured at the Washougal International Film Festival this August 20, 2010.
- Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2010 - The widely successful Washougal International Film Festival will feature the equally successful documentary Trans/Formed, on Friday August 20-created, executive produced and directed by Cleo Valente.
The film Trans/Formed explores the lives of four transgender females of different ethnic backgrounds living in Los Angeles. The documentary exposes the truths and challenges to the transgender community by revealing past horrors, present taboos and future dreams.
Storyteller Cleo Valente, a native of Italy, earned a Ph.D in computer science before moving into film in 2000, and has worked for over a decade as Producer and Casting Director for major Television Networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC, TLC, A&E, MTVtr3s and more.
Trans/Formed was Ms. Valente's first feature documentary in 2006. In 2008 she directed and executive produced a second feature "La Revolucion es la Musica." And, in 2010 co-wrote, directed and executive produced her first narrative short "George and Sofia." As a screenwriter Ms. Valente co-wrote three features--Naked Ambition, Second Chance, and "Where Cedar Trees Burn," which she will direct later this year.
Miss Valente feels that Trans/Formed
"shows the unabashed detailed lifestyle of one of the largest transgender communities, located in Los Angeles, California."
