L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) is organizing a series of activities as part of the 7th World Retinoblastoma Awareness Week from May 11 - 18 to bring public focus on the eye disease.
L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) entered into an agreement with NTR Memorial Trust, a Public Trust with a vision to create an empowered and self reliant society through socio-economic development to provide blood to LVPEI as per the quantity required.
L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) begins the New Year with the launch of its 100th vision centre for primary care as part of its program providing universal eye health coverage to remote and underserved areas. The Institute is expanding its network of permanent primary eye care facilities in rural India with this centre at Araku village, a predominantly tribal area in Visakhapatnam district. With this, about 2000 villages in Andhra Pradesh will be provided high quality primary eye care.
Dr Gullapalli N Rao, Founder and Chairman of L V Prasad Eye Institute received the "Outstanding Humanitarian Service Award", given by AAO. It is in recognition of his eye care delivery model and his contributions to prevention of blindness globally. The award was presented at New Orleans.
