L.A. Comes to Kemptville in the form of Movie Nights for Youth
Residential developer L.A. Group steps forward as Kemptville Youth Centre's 2013 Movie Night sponsor, donates movie projection equipment.
- (1888PressRelease) December 22, 2012 - KEMPTVILLE, Ont. - Youth in Kemptville are getting the big screen experience just in time for the holidays thanks to a generous donation from residential builder L.A. Group, developer of Kemptville Meadows. As part of an ongoing partnership with Kemptville Youth Centre (KYC), L.A. Group and Kemptville Meadows presented the centre with a $1,000 high definition movie projection system and will be sponsoring movie nights for area youth throughout next year under the banner "L.A. Comes to Kemptville."
"I've had a personal interest in supporting the Kemptville Youth Centre for many years," remarked L.A. Group CEO Gilles Brisebois. "They do an amazing job of providing the kids of our community with a positive social outlet. So when we learned of the need for a new projection system for their movie night, L.A. Group and Kemptville Meadows were happy to turn this need into a reality. The fact that we were able to make this happen during the holiday season makes it that much more fulfilling for us."
"We all know it takes a village to raise a child. Having L.A. Group and Kemptville Meadows in our corner with their ongoing support makes the uphill funding challenges we face so much easier," said KYC Executive Director Robin Heald in accepting the support. "We are excited to have them as our Movie Night sponsor for 2013."
KYC movie marathons provide an opportunity for youth in the community to come together under one roof and share a big screen movie theatre experience that isn't available elsewhere in North Grenville, added KYC program co-ordinator Andrew MacLean. "For 12 hours, youth can watch unlimited movies, share snacks with friends and take part in a supervised sleepover unlike any other," he said.
The support for KYC Movie Nights is part of L.A. Group and Kemptville Meadows' ongoing commitment to give back to the community of Kemptville and North Grenville. In addition to providing a place for youth to meet and mingle, the centre offers several support programs and services such as homework assistance, cooking, skating, swimming and others. The overall mission of the centre is to engage youth in making positive life choices and reaching their full potential.
"We are providing well qualified staff and amazing programs for youth to combat the many risk factors that are part of their lives," said Heald. "With supporters like L.A. Group and Kemptville Meadows, we can continue to fill them up with nutritious food and fun experiences while providing excellent role models."
