This additional entertainment includes 5 live band nights, 1 DJ party night, a marine biology presentation, Local Bodu Beru dance and drums, a weekly guest cocktail party and a movie under the stars…of course a la Maldives style on the beach and in a bean bag. M-Crew is a Local Maldivian band that provides covers from across the decades. This is a 3 piece band that are renowned for relaxing vocals and classic songs.
Defnote is one of the most requested bands in the Maldives. Their six piece band plays the most popular current and retro music.
Two nights a week Kurumba offers a Jazz Duo with Saxophone and Guitar. This is a roaming band to entertain the restaurants with beautiful small sound Jazz.
Liquid Flavor with lead singer Mishi Athif who is one of the most renowned female vocalists in the Maldives. She sings and plays guitar in this 5 piece band and offers music with a female touch. Great mix of 70's, 80's and 90's.
DJ Knuckle - This is the night to romp it up on the dance floor to a selections of popular dance tunes spun by our International DJ. DJ Knuckle comes to us from Korea via Florida and he brings with him a rocking mix of today's chart hits, Hip Hop plus some retro oldies.
Bodu Beru is a traditional Maldivian Dance and Drums and is similar to some of the songs and dances found in east Africa. It is likely that the music was introduced to The Maldives by sailors from the Indian Ocean region. It may be said that Bodu Beru known commonly as "Baburu Lava" (Negroid Song) first made an appearance in The Maldives in the 11th Century AD, or maybe before.
Marine Biologist Information Session conducted by Verena W Ali and is a well known Marine Biologist in the Maldives. Dive into the visible & hidden world of marine creatures, starting from the invertebrates and ending with the predators of the oceans. Get a new perspective on the animal diversity that surrounds our island.
Guest cocktail Party - Join us for cocktails and canapés poolside and meet some of our team as well as get together with other guests.
In terms of activities, the new recreation team is hosting complimentary snorkeling lessons, guided house reef tours, social tennis afternoons, beach volleyball, yoga and many others activities. This is all in addition to fabulous existing guest excursions such as sunset dolphin watching cruises, tours to the capital island Male, Fishing excursions, Maldives Experience and Snorkeling Safari's.
