Kula Ranch Island Steakhouse, located at 3295 Dunes Drive in Marina, will offer Mother's Day brunch from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Salinas, CA (1888PressRelease) May 02, 2011 - The brunch buffet will include a wide variety of items from chilled shrimp and salads, to build your own omelet stations as well as carving stations and desserts. The brunch buffets will include champagne mimosas and sparkling cider.
Ten percent of proceeds directly benefit Gateway Center of the Monterey County Inc, a 501(c)3 non-profit which provides a stimulating environment for the developmentally disabled where they can achieve their goals with safety and dignity.

Background On Gateway Center of the Monterey Peninsula :
During the nearly 50-year history of this endeavor, Gateway Center and its predecessor organizations have accomplished the following:
• In 1954, established a school program for developmentally disabled children who were ineligible for existing school programs. The Monterey County Office of Education now operates this program.
• In 1963, developed an Adult Day Activity program that continues as one of the programs of Gateway Center.
• In 1963, began an infant stimulation program that is now operated by the Monterey County Office of Education
• In 1975, developed and continues to operate a Residential program at our Congress street location.
• In 1983, developed a workshop program and supported employment program that continues on through Hope Services.
• In 1985, developed the first Adult Development Program serving the severely to profoundly handicapped as a day program.
• In 1992, acquired and opened a six-bed semi-independent living home in Pacific Grove .
• In 2010 construction started for the development of a new 15 bed Intermediate care facility for the Developmentally disabled Scheduled to open February 2011
Our goal is to continue our programs and to find new and innovative ways of assisting the developmentally disabled to live in our community in surroundings compatible with their ability to live and work at the highest level possible.
