    Manny Gonzalez, AIA will be a speaker at ULI Spring Council Forum held from May 9 – 11, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. As a panelist for the session “Majority Rules: New Rules and Tools for Serving an Aging Marketplace” on Friday, May 11, 2007 from 11:15 am – 12:30 pm, Gonzalez will address the maturing Baby Boom generation’s impact on age-restricted communities and how they have different needs and wants than the Eisenhower generation for whom the majority of the currently marketed active adult communities’ product and programming was designed. Gonzalez is based in KTGY’s Santa Monica office and is responsible for the design, land planning and production of developments throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado as well as active adult and affordable multi-family communities nationwide.

    At the PCBC show held in San Francisco from May 29, 2007 - June 1, 2007 at the Moscone Center, Ken Ryan has been invited to participate as a speaker at the session “Smart Building Through Urban Overlay Zones” on Thursday, May 31, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Ryan, who aided the City of Anaheim, Calif. in creating its overlay zone, will discuss the benefits and potential drawbacks of these zones and the areas of opportunity they can create including the revitalization of a community, its housing, businesses and economy. With over 20 years of experience, Ryan has served as a leader involving complex regeneration planning, large scale master plans, town center evaluation, resort/recreation studies, community participation programs and intergovernmental coordination. Ryan recently joined KTGY and is heading up the Community Planning and Urban Design studio based in Irvine.

    As part of the National Trends Conference for the Multifamily Housing Industry, in conjunction with PCBC, Stan Braden, AIA, has been invited to participate as a speaker at ULI Multifamily Trends Conference held May 29, 2007 - May 30, 2007 at the San Francisco Marriott. His panel, “Low Cost/High Design,” will be featured on Wednesday, May 30, from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Braden will share inventive concepts and solutions for multi-family housing that achieve both great design and bottom-line value. Based in the company’s Irvine office, Braden is the Chairman at KTGY bringing over 35 years of architectural experience and has been responsible for the design of many award winning projects including high density residential projects ranging from $2 million to $60 million. Two of Braden’s projects are up for the gold award at the 2007 Gold Nugget Awards gala held on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Up for the “Best Affordable Project – Under 30 DU/AC” is College Vista, an affordable faculty housing at the College of San Mateo. Oakland Estuary located in Oakland, Calif. is up for the “Best Neighborhood Site Plan – Up To 20 Acres” and the “Best Attached Housing Project – 18 to 40 DU/AC.”
