KPIT Cummins announces availability of 16bit AUTOSAR R3.1 implementation based on the Herstellerinitiative Software (HIS) recommendation
KPIT Cummins Infosystems Ltd. (BSE: 532400; NSE: KPIT), today announced the availability of software package based on the Herstellerinitiative Software(1) recommendation for Scalable AUTOSAR(2) Stack supporting 16 bit AUTOSAR R3.1 Solution.
- (1888PressRelease) October 20, 2010 - Pune (India) - In recent years, the need for standardization of automotive software has been quite significant, because of an increase of ECUs (3) in the cars. However, the program size became large due to standardization specifications. Thus, an AUTOSAR solution that can be accommodated within the smaller memory size like the 16bit microcontroller was requested by automotive market. This AUTOSAR solution meets these requirements by optimizing the code size according to recommended guidelines by HIS. This 16bit AUTOSAR R3.1 software package is being demonstrated on F2MC-16FX (4) Family of microcontrollers by Fujitsu Semiconductor at SAE Convergence 2010.
This software package enables easy design of AUTOSAR based automotive applications and includes KPIT's BSW (5), Fujitsu Semiconductor's MCAL (6) and a comprehensive tool chain for ECU configuration. Users of the KPIT-Fujitsu Semiconductor software benefit from its reduced memory size which makes it extremely compatible to the development process of small and medium automotive applications.
An automotive supplier receives all hardware independent AUTOSAR Basic Software modules from KPIT Cummins tested and optimized for F2MC-16FX microcontrollers. In addition to these, KPIT Cummins provides the complete ECU Spectrum tool suite required for ECU Configuration and RTE (7) generation. Fujitsu Semiconductor supplies the AUTOSAR based Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL), optimized for F2MC-16FX microcontroller, which acts as an interface between the Hardware-independent Basic Software and the microcontroller. KPIT and Fujitsu Semiconductor can support AUTOSAR total solutions.
