Koniakowsky's "Blue Lip" to don San Diego's Art Walk Art On The Bay T-shirts
Koniakowsky Ocean Art Selected as Official Design for This Year's Art Walk On The Bay T-Shirt.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) August 26, 2010 - Renowned San Diegan and internationally acclaimed artist Wade Koniakowsky, whose ocean art is displayed throughout art galleries spanning multiple states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, was selected to design the official event t-shirt for this year's ArtWalk on the Bay.
"For ArtWalk on the Bay, event organizers select a piece of artwork each year to adorn the official event t-shirt. This year, Wade's piece 'Blue Lip' was selected to depict the San Diego lifestyle," said Sandi Cottrell, managing director of ArtWalk. "Wade took an interest in the project beyond just allowing us to use his artwork. With his vast expertise at designing his own line of t-shirts, he participated in the design process along with our art director, Kristie McClure."
According to Cottrell, artists and volunteers take pride in their collection of ArtWalk and ArtWalk on the Bay t-shirts. "We're confident this year's design will make this one hugely popular," she added.
This year's ArtWalk on the Bay t-shirt can be purchased at the event September 18 and 19 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Park. Koniakowsky will autograph t-shirts at his tent #107.
Koniakowsky's art has been featured in movies, television shows and at such international surf competitions as the World Longboarding Championships and ROXY sponsored surf events. His designs currently embellish custom surfboards that decorate Billabong stores nationwide. Koniakowsky recently partnered with famed surf photographer Aaron Chang to launch San Diego's first Ocean Art Gallery located in the Cedros Design District of Solana Beach. His work can be viewed and purchased at the Ocean Art by Aaron Chang Gallery and at www.koniakowsky.com.
