Knutson Receives MSU's Distinguished Faculty Award

  • (1888PressRelease) February 16, 2012 - Chicago, IL - Michigan State University (MSU) professor Dr. Bonnie J. Knutson, a faculty member for the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) Executive Development Program, was honored with MSU's Distinguished Faculty Award, NAMA Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dan H. Mathews, NCE5, CCS announced today, and "we congratulate her for this prestigious award."

    Knutson, a professor in The School of Hospitality Business, was one of only 10 MSU faculty members who were honored at the annual MSU Awards Convocation Feb. 14. According to MSU's Broad College of Business, the award is given to those who have a "comprehensive and sustained record of scholarly excellence in research and/or creative activities, instruction and outreach."

    "Knutson shares her expertise in areas of emerging consumer lifestyle trends, customer service, brand positioning and strategic marketing related to the hospitality industry with senior level leaders in vending, coffee service and foodservice who enroll in the EDP program," said Mathews. "They are the key decision-makers in areas of finance, marketing, operations and human resource management," he added.

    NAMA is the national trade association of the food and refreshment vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries including on-site, commissary, catering, & mobile. Its membership is comprised of service companies, equipment manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to operating service companies. The basic mission of the association, to collectively advance and promote the automatic merchandising and coffee service industries, still guides NAMA today as it did in 1936, the year of the organization's founding.
