Knight Investments LLC reviews US Economic Development Agency's Recent Appropriation
US Commerce Secretary declared a 3 million United States Dollar grant in benefit of the City of Vancouver Washington; whereas legislation again demonstrated its need for collateral based projects bringing jobs.
- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2010 - Officials from Knight Investmetns LLC reviewed U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke's announcement of a $3 million U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant to the city of Vancouver, Wash. oin the month of September.
The purpose of the grant was to make roadway infrastructure improvements needed to redevelop the Crescent Industrial Area. The project is expected to create 750 jobs and generate $25 million in private investment, according to grantee estimates.
Officials from Knight Investments LLC stated that legislation moves such as this demonstrate the need for collateral based projects (seeking compliance solutions) to focus on job creation.
"The Commerce Department is committed to job growth and business development, and this grant will fund vital infrastructure needed in the Vancouver community," Locke said. "This project will help create jobs and keep local companies competitive by revitalizing the Crescent Industrial Area to attract new businesses and support economic growth in the region."
This investment funds improvements to streets inside the Crescent Industrial Area as well as improvements to adjacent streets, water and sewer lines, storm drainage, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscaping. These improvements will allow for 338,000 square feet of industrial office and flex space for research and development.
