- (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2011 - Kirstie Allsopp best known for co-presenting television's 'Location, Location, Location' has been announced as the keynote speaker at the 2011 Woman of the Year Luncheon and Awards. This prestigious event takes place on Friday 14th October at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole and the organizers say tickets are selling out fast.
The television property guru will speak to a 400-strong audience of the region's most prominent women. Considered to be the 'Oscar ceremony' for enterprise and personal achievement outside of London, the event has raised over half a million for its chosen charities since its inception.
In what promises to be an inspiring and entertaining address, Kirstie - who has been co hosting with Phil Spencer on Channel 4's 'Vacation, Vacation, Vacation' this summer - will be discussing the importance of following entrepreneurial instincts to the attendees.
Judy Groves, the awards Chair, said:
"Our Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards ceremony is a sell-out year on year and I urge guests to book their tickets to avoid missing the chance to hear from one of Britain's most well-loved television presenters and enjoy a fabulous event. Kirstie Allsopp is an astute businesswoman and she will share valuable lessons, knowledge and stories in her inimitable, entertaining and no nonsense style.
"As well as working in the property business and presenting popular television shows, Kirstie has published books including the forthcoming Kirstie's Great British Book of Craft and launched a brand new home ware range with Marks and Spencer, in addition to her own brand Kirstie Allsopp Home Living. It's certainly safe to say that the stories of how she achieved this success will be fascinating to hear."
Last year Katie Piper, her personal story 'my beautiful face' having inspired millions, won the Woman of Courage Award while Suzie Norton, former Chief Executive of Screen WM, was crowned 2010 Businesswoman of the Year.
These inspiring women followed in the footsteps of previous award winners including Karren Brady, star of The Apprentice and Vice-Chairman at West Ham United, Hilary Devey of Dragon's Den and Founder of Pall-Ex and Perween Warsi, Founder of S&A Foods.
Tickets, priced at £65, are still available to attend the Vitalise Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards which includes a three-course lunch by logging on to www.womenoftheyear-uk.com
