Kings View Capital Advisors to further expand company research in January
Kings View Capital Advisors today announced that Darren Glass will join the firm in January as Director of Research.
- (1888PressRelease) November 24, 2016 - HONG KONG - Mr. Glass will be responsible for equity research coverage of the telecom services sector and will be based in Hong Kong.
Darren Glass joins Kings View Capital Advisors with more than 13 years of research experience. Most recently he was Global Head of Research for Canadian institution Research In Motion (RIM). Darren Glass holds a BSc in Economics from the Faculty of Economics from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
Kings View Capital Advisors' Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Justin Li commented on the appointment of Darren Glass saying "Darren's appointment marks our commitment to maintaining an industry-leading team of equity research analysts to provide insightful analysis to institutional and hedge fund clients. I am confident that the deep experience that Darren brings to our team will further enhance our services provided to our global client base here at Kings View Capital Advisors."
Kings View Capital Advisors' new Director of Research, Mr. Darren Glass added "I am pleased to be joining Kings View Capital Advisors. I hope my experience can take the company to the next level in terms of modern day technology and trading. Asia is certainly the place to be."
Kings View Capital Advisors was established in Hong Kong in 1997. Andrew Sun and Norman Lambert, two former chief trading partners at Solomon Brothers saw the need for a more flexible business model lacking the institutional flaws that led that business, like so many of its contemporaries to suffer fatal exposure during the market upheavals almost a decade later.
Having previously been impressed with the work of a young analyst named Justin Li they took the highly unusual step of making him a full partner at the formation of the company. This was a master stroke, with Justin Li being instrumental in the development of the algorithms that have given Kings View Capital Advisors the edge over its competition, while the decades of trading experience of the 'Old Masters' as Sun & Lambert are affectionately known, has safeguarded the company's growth year on year.
As we added more partners to the firm and acquired several other firms, the company underwent a re-branding exercise in 2007, in the process changing its name from Sun, Lambert & Partners of Hong Kong to Kings View Capital Advisors to reflect our office location at that time on Kings Road in Hong Kong.
Once it became clear the retail division was operational and the demand was there, the decision was taken to undertake an aggressive expansion programme. Regional offices were opened in Shanghai (2010), Tokyo (2011) and Taipei (2014), absorbing local firms with an established footprint and retaining key staff.
Kings View Capital Advisors provide the same high standard of service with access to the same products and vehicles whether working on behalf of a private investor or its largest institutional clients.
