Kids In The Middle Receives $500,000 In New Funding
St. Louis County Children's Service Fund partners with agency to support its counseling services.
- St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) February 05, 2014 - Kids In The Middle (KITM) was recently awarded $500,000 from the St. Louis County Children's Service Fund (CSF). The funding, which is for 2014 and 2015, supports a variety of counseling services for children and families of divorce.
The new CSF funding also will allow the agency to reduce its sliding scale fees for St. Louis County residents, making it a maximum fee of $30 per session for these families.
"We understand what these families are going through since divorce brings financial as well as emotional struggles," said KITM executive director Judy Berkowitz. "Even though children need our counseling services, parents sometimes cannot afford them. We're excited for the opportunity to offer this change to families in St. Louis County."
The CSF's funding will subsidize a new parent education and support program beginning Feb. 3. The free program will focus on six topics that will be repeated, so parents can join the group at any time.
