  • Monmouth-Ocean, NJ (1888PressRelease) December 12, 2013 - More than a sports center and more than an enrichment program, XCEL Club combines fun activities for kids with learning in a whole new way. XCEL Club is hosting its first Open House on Saturday, December 14, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at its new, state-of-the-art youth performance facility and sports center. Parents and children are invited to take a little time out from the hectic holidays and enjoy some entertainment, food, fun- and a unique twist on learning, kids health and what it means to "succeed."

The XCEL Club offers a first-of-its kind program that combines the core areas of youth fitness and nutrition, sports performance conditioning, homework assistance, testing strategies and essential life skills-like time management-to help children successfully reach their full potential. While traditional kids health, sports and education enrichment programs address one competency at a time, XCEL Club takes an innovative, holistic approach by providing K-8 children with the tutoring, strategies and confidence they need to find their competitive edge.

Families can stop by the enormous 13,000 square foot Eatontown facility located right off Route 35 to meet the staff and vendors. Plus, they can interact with an exciting, to-be-named sports personality! Everyone is invited to pull up a stool at the snack bar and sample healthy hors d'oeuvres and shakes. Guests can participate in the youth fitness, sports performance and enrichment program activities and enjoy the many demonstrations, crafts and other activities for kids.

Visitors will be able to tour XCEL Club to see the various "learning stations," including two high-tech social lounges that feature Xbox. Guests are welcome to test out the sprawling modern gym or stroll down Einstein Alley to view the fully stocked classrooms, designed for both group and one-on-one homework assistance and tutoring for important skills like reading comprehension and testing strategies.

"We believe that each child is unique," says Charles Braunstein, Founder of XCEL Club. "With the help of advanced tools like the Competitive edge Profile, we develop an individualized program based on the whole child-physical, academic, temperament, everything including the child's optimal learning modality."

At XCEL Club homework assistance, as well as guided instruction in academics, youth fitness, sports performance conditioning, nutrition, time management and other essential life skills are offered in a fun, integrated 3-hour format. Student athletes can work on specific goals to take their game to the next level, while less active children can learn about the benefits of nutrition and the mind-body connection.

"It's not about winning for winning's sake. It's about empowerment and reaching your personal goals," explains Braunstein. "Everything is accelerating faster than ever before. We need to teach children to be flexible and strategic, and to learn some of the life lessons we didn't understand until we were adults, like the difference between a vision and a dream." At XCEL Club children learn how time management, goal setting, endurance and action steps can help them achieve their dreams.

Group and individualized sports performance enhancement instruction is offered, including: basketball training, soccer training, baseball training, tennis training, lacrosse training and more.

The XCEL Club program provides an ideal solution for overscheduled, overstimulated and overstressed children. "Doing more of the same old thing, running from practice to practice, doesn't necessarily get results." according to Co-Founder Steve Shields. "It's not about doing everything; it's about quality and being strategic. We harness all this to give children that extra something, that competitive edge, they need to succeed in life."
