Kenyon Glover Talks About Overcoming Obstacles
The actor appeared on "The Steven Knight Talk Show" and also talked about his new book, "Chasing A Dream."
- (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2013 - Hollywood actor Kenyon Glover, made an appearance on on "The Steven Knight Talk Show" this week. Glover was on the program to talk to listeners about overcoming obstacles and staying strong no matter what is going on in their lives. Glover has firsthand experience with this message because, as he told the host, Steven Knight, he had to learn how to do it the hard way.
Glover has experienced some of the toughest setbacks anyone could face in life. He had to deal with childhood abuse, watch his Mom being abused, suffer jail time for something he was was innocent of, and lose his dream of basketball stardom, after being drafted into the pinnacle of success, the NBA, being chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks. He blew his knee during practice and had to give up the sport just months after being selected.
Not many people can deal with those kinds of setbacks, even one of them, and still find a way to turn it around. But Kenyon Glover did. He found a new passion, acting, after getting into modeling, and is now on the path to Hollywood stardom, having amassed an impressive list of credits in movies and on television in a short amount of time.
So talking on the show about perseverance was right up his alley as Glover strongly believes in helping others through what he went through. In fact he is also releasing a new book, "Chasing A Dream," to be released next week, that chronicles his journey, from childhood troubles to near suicide to the red carper in Los Angeles. It is by all accounts, an amazing and inspirational journey.
On the show Glover also mentioned that he is scheduled to star in a new feature film, "It's Good To Be A Gangster," which will begin shooting next month in Hollywood. On the heels of that film, he will go right into production on the first episodes of the second season of the popular web series, "Anica" and then fly to Atlanta to finish up another film called "Losing Everything."
Needless to say, listeners to the show got a lot from this very busy man. But the message Glover most hoped to have passed on, is that if you never give up, you can make your dreams come true.
