Inspiration Live Forever
Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) October 10, 2015 - The discussion of women empowerment has always had a powerful meaning. Many women from around the world have inspired women yearly with annual conventions, conferences, festivals, events, luncheons; and many have went on to interview about the topic. This is something that we all know; women fighting for women will always be a relevent topic. In a world where many men just look at women as a sexual object and the idea of inspiring women doesn't come to their mind, Kenneth Monroe is on a mission to change mens way of thinking.
"We as men have to understand that women are doing great things in this world, they are our queens, they are leaders, they are intelligent and they are making things happen. This is not the old days, times have definitely changed. A woman's worth is priceless. There are some great men who value women, but there are many who don't. My goal is to help change that." (Kenneth Monroe)
"When men aim to empower women, they effectively push a movement forward and invite others to do the same. When you empower a man, you empower one. When you empower a woman, you empower her entire family. It's the right time for a young entrepreneur like Kenneth Monroe to break the industry patterns and create meaningful ways to address gender equality." (Rupa Dash, Managing Director of EWomen Network which is the world's largest women entrepreneurship network and Co Founder of World Woman Foundation which is the premier Women's leadership institute)
"It is very inspirational to work with Kenneth Monroe. His vision for uplifting women, of all ages and races, brings unity to all of us and let's us see ourselves in a much greater light. It is a pleasure to know him and to experience his visionary greatness." (Laura Gisborne, Entrepreneur, Author: Multi Million Dollar Wine and Real Estate Empire)
His mission is not only to change the way many men think, but to also encourage more women to be positive and come together.
" There are alot of negative women out here as well. There are up and coming women who have a bad attitude because things may not be going the way that they want. There are accomplished women who are not humble, look down on people. There are women that let egos and jealousy get in the way: and there are some women who like to use men for money. These are all facts, so the question is, how can I help change the mindframes of those type of women as well?" (Kenneth Monroe)
Monroe wants to show young women that you can be very successful in many industries outside of the entertainment industry. In a city where people are stuck on celebrity driven entertainment, that can be very misleading to women that aspire to be successful in other industries.
"Most of the time TV tells us that you're somebody of significance if you're in the entertainment industry. There are many times where a celebrity is on TV for the wrong reasons, became a celebrity for the wrong reasons, something controversial, something not inspiring. Let's start informing young women on the women who are very accomplished in their industry, made alot of money, have many accolades and touched many lives in their industry. What that does is teach more young women how to dream big and give them the courage to try other things." (Kenneth Monroe)
"The fact that Monroe is recognizing strong and empowered women from various industries fosters respect for diversity. It showcases and celebrates the strengths and accomplishments on various fronts. Doing so ignites passion and motivation for women and even little girls everywhere to break through the glass ceilings and stereotypes of what society has historically placed upon us. No matter what your desire or status, you can be empowered, and accomplished. That is the message we want to send." (Alicia Marie, A List Fitness Guru)
"It's easy to celebrate the celebrity because typically one feels that along with that particular celebrity comes a fanbase, which in turn helps lift the visibility of any particular mission. However, Kenneth is on the right path. Which is really about the support of the everyday woman, the unsung heroes of the feminine; mothers and daughters who have not been recognized which are also important in society." (Tess Cacciatore: Humanitarian, Award Winning Producer, Co-Founder of Global Women's Empowerment Network)
When it came time to pick a woman for his Lifetime Achievement Award Monroe wanted to focus on someone who is not in the limelight, but has made a significant impact behind the scenes. He wanted to shed light on an industry that he feels doesn't get enough recognition outside of their community. For many industries that come with alot of glitz and glamour, a community leader works miracles from the background as they inspire the future of the next generation. Keren Taylor of "Writegirl" has been honored by First Lady Michelle Obama with the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award which is the highest national Honor awarded to exemplary after-school and out of school time programs across the country. She was highlighted on CNN for their popular segment "CNN Hero," she was named the California Nonprofit of the year by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver when he was Governor. " Writegirl" has been awarded 71 national and international book awards. For the past two decades, Keren Taylor has taken the community leader title to another level.
"Keren is just very humble and down to earth. Her accomplishments and what she means in the community to the city of Los Angeles is breathtaking, but her authentic personality that she combines with that is what made me want to give her the Lifetime Achievement Award. How many people can say that they have been honored by those prestigious people and companies; not what she did for herself but what she did for others. Many people talk about Women Empowerment, but everyone does not live it. To have those type of honors from those type of individuals, companies and still be that humble is inspiring to me. There is nothing Hollywood about her, she is as real as they come." (Kenneth Monroe)
"I talk with a lot of people every day, and my two conversations with Monroe made me very emotional, in a good way! I found myself crying in both of our phone conversations, which came as a complete surprise to me. I do the work I do because I believe that teenagers need to be inspired, supported, encouraged and ignited to find their passions. To raise their voices and set out on a path towards careers that will challenge and uplift them and all the people around them. It's easy to find girls that need mentors, but hard to find women writers who will commit the time to mentor them, and even harder to find all the funders we need to support our programs and staff.
Sometimes I feel like we are invisible; working daily to improve the lives of hundreds of girls, but not necessarily being seen and sustained by the companies and individuals who believe in the importance of the work we do for young people. No matter how hard or how overwhelming it can be at times, I'm always willing and ready to do whatever it takes to help young people raise their voices, set their sights on their goals, and get the tools they need to succeed in whatever path they choose. A man on a mission to empower women is a beautiful thing! We need more men to openly declare their support for women doing important work in our communities. I'm very glad Monroe has chosen to spend some of his time and resources to shine a light on some of the significant accomplishments of women in business and women working on social causes." ( Keren Taylor: Community Leader, Executive Director of Writegirl)
A man taking on this challenge is not an easy task. It takes courage, vision, personality, leadership and the will to see it through. Kenneth Monroe has faced many trials and tribulations along his journey but at the end of the day it's all worth it when the end result can impact lives.
"I'm not here to save the world, I'm here to impact who I can so that my inspiration will live in them forever. I'm not perfect, I never will be and I will never tell anyone to be perfect. We live, we learn and our goal should always be to do things with good intentions, stay humble, keep good people around you and do your best. The Women Empowerment ceremony is going to be heartfelt, but the documentary is the big picture. That will inspire women around the world. The women that is a part of this journey with me, I will forever be grateful. I thank God for giving me the opportunity and I thank my mom for teaching me how to respect and value women." (Kenneth Monroe)
