Cox, who is a Prayer Minister and a member of Kenneth Copeland Ministries' Toastmasters Club in Newark, TX, stated she joined Toastmasters to become a better speaker for the purpose of sharing the Gospel. She surpassed fierce competition to win the hearts of the audience and judges alike with her speech, 'Love & Respect'. The speech touched on the necessity of love and respect in a successful marriage. When it comes to connecting with an audience, she said, "The key is to connect heart to heart like one friend to another.".
Eighty-two district-level winners from around the world advanced to the semifinal round after a six-month process of elimination through club, area and district speech competitions. Their five-to-seven-minute speeches were judged on content, organization, gestures and style. "What a privilege to bring hope to the hearts of those from many other countries," says Cox, about going to Orlando in August.
