  • (1888PressRelease) December 28, 2010 - HANOI - Kearny Alliance plans to double the scope of the Developing Country Export Assistance Program by publishing 24 Developing Country Sourcing Reports in 2011, up from 12 in 2010.

This is in response to supplier beneficiaries receiving $725,000 worth of export orders, creating an estimated 2,071 jobs in Vietnam, India, Cambodia, the Philippines and Indonesia in the last two years. Suppliers expect to generate a further $5.5 million within the next 12 months.

The Kearny Alliance started the program in 2008 with in-kind support of Global Sources.

The Export Assistance Program aims to create jobs in developing Asia for small and medium-sized exporters through free websites on Global Sources Online and print marketing to more than 967,160 buyers in Global Sources' community.
"We published 28 Developing Country Sourcing Reports and supported hundreds of exporters over the past two years. Last year, we produced one report per month. In 2011, we plan to offer buyers a new report every two weeks," said Alexander Boome, program director of the Kearny Alliance.

"We're expanding due to the success of the program to date as measured by export sales generated and jobs created. Also, we see growing buyer interest for information on reliable export suppliers from emerging Asian supply markets."

    Positive beneficiary feedback
"We are pleased and excited to have received very good sale leads through this free program when we started uploading our products onto Global Sources Online in 2009,"said program beneficiary, Dang Quang Thang, director of Tiamo. "We received ten orders from America and Europe for our handmade handbags, which involved more 100 workers.

"The Kearny Alliance helps us with very practical knowledge and skills. We are successful in using the powerful marketing tools offered by Global Sources. We would like to send great thanks to Kearny Alliance and Global Sources."
