Kat Meezan of Focal Instincts Photography Awarded "New Photographer of the Year"

The Inland Empire Professional Photographers and Videographers (IEPPV), a local chapter of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), has chosen Kat Meezan as their newest outstanding photographer. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) December 16, 2012 - Corona, Calif. - Kat Meezan of Focal Instincts Photography, a Corona photographer, was awarded the Inland Empire's prestigious New Photographer of the Year award on Wednesday night. Kat, a new member to the IEPPV association within the past year and her first year of competing, is thrilled with her new-found accomplishment.

Kat shares, "Being awarded as the IEPPV New Photographer of the Year is such an honor. I know I and my fellow photographers who were also nominated, worked very hard to achieve this award and I would like to thank the IEPPV as well as congratulate my fellow nominees."

Focal Instincts Photography has been in business since 2008, and began as a side passion for Meezan. She took her photography passion, quite her "day job" and became immersed in the art of fulltime photography. Kat further shares, "To hand over to families, people, moms and dads and bit of a glimpse into another part of their image that perhaps they never noticed is so rewarding for me. I'm just so pleased that I get to do what I love every day. I'm truly blessed."

The IEPPV's guidelines to be eligible for the "New Photographer of the Year" award are as follows:
• It must be the participants first year competing
• The participant must participate in all 4 competitions
• The participant must receive at least 4 merits

Kat Meezan received 6 merits this year, including "best in class" for wedding photography this past September. Additionally, her merits included: three merits in the illustrative category; two merits in the portrait category (boudoir images which are harder to merit) and one merit (and best in class) in wedding photography.
