This is an opportunity for people throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to enjoy guided tours, relaxation meditations and refreshments at a Buddhist Temple. Seeing the beautiful shrine alone is worth the trip.
Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) March 04, 2011 - Kadampa Meditation Center Texas (KMC Texas), home to a thriving Buddhist community, will be hosting an open house on March 19th from 10am - 2pm. Everyone is welcome.
KMC Texas is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU) and was founded by the Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism.
Gen Kelsang Jampa, the Resident Teacher of KMC Texas, is also the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director for the US. Gen Jampa's warmth, kindness and deep understanding of Buddhist teachings provide an inspiring example of Buddhism in practice.
One of the main attractions at KMC Texas is the Temple's beautiful shrine. Within the shrine cabinet is an eight foot tall statue of Buddha and several other large statues of Buddhist deities. The art work took several artists from different countries more than a year to complete. Many visitors come to the Center just to see the breathtaking beauty of the shrine.
The open house is an opportunity to visit a Buddhist Temple and see what it's all about. The senior teachers and students will be on hand and there will be guided tours that explain Buddhist symbolism, statues and other aspects of the shrine. Guided meditations will be offered and refreshments will be served throughout the day.
