San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) April 09, 2012 - San Francisco based, K9 Scrub Club officially launched their CARES program today which helps give back to the community and local rescue organizations that benefit from donated items and fundraising.

The CARES acronym stands for Community, Animal well-being, Rescue organizations, Education & awareness, and Sustainability.

All of the employees at K9 Scrub Club have pets and share a passion for enabling pets to live a better life and helping organizations that support animal welfare. We came up with the CARES program after discussing what our core values are and why we choose to work for K9 Scrub Club.

Each of the letters in CARES stands for something significant in our core business philosophy. The C stands for Community. Our community is the reason why we are in business and we look for ways to contribute to our community in many different ways. Whether it is volunteering at a neighborhood event, supporting other local businesses or organizing a local clean-up effort, K9SC team members are ready and willing to help out.

The A stands for Animal well-being. We choose products that are first and foremost, good for pets. Whether it is an educational toy, specifically selected to promote an interactive experience between you and your dog or a grain-free treat that is free from common allergens, each product is selected with care and with your pet's well-being in mind.

The R stands for Rescue organizations. Local rescues spend countless hours working to improve the lives of animals that deserve a second chance. These are animals that are neglected or otherwise uncared for and need a loving home where they are cared for and appreciated. Our team is dedicated to supporting these organizations however we can - whether it is through our donation program, where we give a 15% discount on a new collar or leash when customers donate their old collar to be repurposed for a pup in need or by fundraising efforts, our team is committed to helping local rescue organizations succeed.

The E stands for Education and awareness. We dedicate a significant amount of time to educating our team and our customers on how to care for their pet. We promote an educational environment and team members are rewarded for ideas that promote education and awareness to our customers. We are continually striving to bring awareness on everything from health-related issues/concerns to basic grooming technics to our team members, customers and community.

The S stands for sustainability. We strongly believe in doing things that are not only good for our four-legged friends, but also for the planet. Whenever possible, we make business decisions with sustainability and eco-friendly actions in mind. For this reason, you will find water-saving trigger sprays on site, organic and eco-friendly products and day-to-day operations that help conserve energy and resources. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our use of sustainable resources and less waste.
