June Caravel Gets Creative With London Street Names In New Music Video
On Friday 8th September, French singer-songwriter June Caravel releases her new video London Song. This original music video will capture the imaginations of Londoners and tourists alike, as June matches almost every word in her song over fifty street names across the capital.
- (1888PressRelease) September 22, 2011 - Armed with her Collins London Essential Street Atlas and Google Maps, June carefully crafted her lyrics to ensure that she could bring each word to life with footage of her singing in front of a corresponding London street name.
The song was recorded in June 2011 as part of her upcoming EP "The A Capella Sessions" to be released on 9th January 2012. "I was inspired to write the song back in 2010 when I was cycling around Hammersmith. I stopped at the corner of Down Place and Bridge Avenue. The chorus popped into my head. So I recorded it on my dictaphone. It was at that moment that the idea of writing a song made up of London Street Names was born."
To celebrate London Song June is launching a competition to get Londoners involved in London Song edit 2! For everyone who sends her a picture of themselves in front of street signs featured in the video by November 30th, 2011, June will send them a complimentary .mp3 of London Song and they will also enter a draw to win The Times Atlas of London. They can find a map of where the street signs are located on the contest page of www.junecaravel.com. "The rule is simple, be creative!"
