July 22: NAIOP New Jersey Community Action Project to Benefit Community Food Bank
The 2011 Food Drive is NAIOP New Jersey's latest effort in a long tradition of community service.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) June 29, 2011 - Responding to the slow economic recovery and the reality that New Jersey's food banks generally see a dramatic drop in donations in the warm months, NAIOP New Jersey is once again teaming with the Community Food (CFB) Bank of New Jersey to conduct a food drive and volunteer day. The chapter's 2011 Community Action Project is slated for July 22.
In 2010, NAIOP New Jersey members assisted the CFB by contributing more than 1,000 pounds of food and nearly $3,000 in cash donations through collections at their respective offices and at association events, and many of the volunteers brought donations with them on volunteer day. CFB, a designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization, supplies food to 1,500 soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, after-school programs and senior centers across New Jersey.
How to Help
NAIOP New Jersey members are conducting food collections at their places of business, making monetary donations and donating via a Virtual Food Drive. NAIOP NJ volunteers will spend a day at the Food Bank in Hillside on July 22. The public is encouraged to donate via the Virtual Food Drive.
The 2011 Food Drive is NAIOP New Jersey's latest effort in a long tradition of community service, with a longstanding goal of helping to make the state's communities better places in which to live and work.
