Julie brings over two decades of laboratory experience and a wealth of expertise in the cannabis industry to the board.

Julie’s extensive background in laboratory operations and her passion for analytical chemistry make her an invaluable addition to CloudLIMS’ SAB. Julie will lend her expertise to CloudLIMS to further develop a cutting-edge product that addresses the challenges of cannabis testing and, at the same time, future-proofs labs to address diverse challenges, right from data management to audit trail to automation to meeting compliance. Julie is renowned for her technical expertise, offering clients technical programs and customized training for laboratory staff. Julie’s journey in the cannabis testing industry, which began in 2011, has made her a sought-after speaker and trainer, with a focus on educating audiences about various aspects of analytical chemistry.

In addition to her hands-on laboratory experience, Julie has served as an auditor for an accreditation body, working closely with laboratories seeking ISO 17025 accreditation. She holds a graduate degree in Analytical Chemistry from Pennsylvania State University and possesses expertise in troubleshooting, method development, and validation for GC, GC-MS, LC, and LC-MS/MS. Her proficiency extends to pesticide residue analysis and chromatography method development.

Julie’s previous roles include over a decade at a technology provider, where she developed methods and products, including designing reference materials for specific applications in the food and food safety sectors. More recently, Julie served as the Scientific Director and Chief Scientific Officer for a cannabis testing laboratory.

Julie’s commitment to advancing the scientific community is evident through her involvement in various organizations. She has served as the President and Program Chair of the North American Chemical Residue Workshop, contributed to AOAC Expert Review Panels, and played an active role in the Cannabis Scientific Task Force for Washington State. Currently, she co-chairs the AOAC Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP) Chemistry Working Group, in addition to her membership in the AOAC CASP PT and Training working groups and the AOAC CASP Proficiency Testing Task Force. Furthermore, Julie served as the Analytical Track Chair for the 2023 Cannabis Science Conferences.
