What’s The Recruit Season 2 About?

Created by Alexi Hawley, The Recruit continues from the dramatic cliffhanger of Season 1, where Russian asset Max Meladze’s (Laura Haddock) life is at risk after being shot by her own daughter. Season 2 follows CIA lawyer Owen as he navigates a life-threatening espionage mission in South Korea, discovering that the greatest danger may lie within the agency itself.

Centineo shared his excitement, saying, “I know I speak for our entire team and Netflix when I say that we’re thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season. I’m looking forward to seeing what [showrunner] Alexi Hawley has in store for us all.”

Interestingly, it was Centineo who brought the script to Netflix and helped develop the story, in addition to starring in and executive producing the series. Other executive producers include Doug Liman, Gene Klein, David Bartis, Adam Ciralsky, Charlie Ebersol, and Julian Holmes.

“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit,” said Hawley. “Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to 11 in Season 2.”

The new season introduces some exciting new faces! Teo Yoo (Past Lives, Love to Hate You) joins as a series regular, portraying a clever and driven South Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent. Additional new recruits include Young-Ah Kim as Grace, Felix Solis as Tom Wallace, James Purefoy as Oliver Bonner-Jones, Shin Do-hyun as Yoo Jin Lee, Sanghee Lee as Nan Hee, Omar Maskati as Jae King, Brooke Smith as Marcy Potter, Devika Bhise as Juno Marsh, and Alana Hawley Purvis as Amanda Fern.
