  • (1888PressRelease) August 24, 2010 - "Everyone can doodle & scribble their way to wellness & joy by climbing up, up, up to fun, self-love, and the angels that want to hug us with creative possibilities."

-Joyce White, author of Sculpting the Heart

Author and Artist Joyce White offers help for those suffering depression with her book "SCULPTING THE HEART, SURVIVING DEPRESSION WITH ART THERAPY." In this book, Joyce tells her own story of depression and how she turned her passion for art and poetry into therapy for her soul.

Joyce explains her philosophy on getting better with Art Therapy:
"I've had hard times. Everybody does. It is hard to stay depressed if you are busy doing something you love. Being happily engaged in creative self-expression is better than not; and secondly, living without depression, pain and anger, is better that living with them."

Her second book "SCULPTING THE HEART'S POETRY, WHILE CONVERSING WITH THE MASTERS" Joyce is inspired by master artists from history to create poetry expressing her love of the piece, her feelings of sensuality, femininity, relationships, mythology, inner turmoil and finding peace.

As additions to her Sculpting the Heart Series, Joyce has again shared pieces of her soul with readers and artist alike. It is her hope that anyone in need of direction will find her books a helpful guide along their own path toward peace.

"What highly validates this book for me," says Sage Sweetwater, author and poet, "is the kind of creative expansiveness Joyce White gives of the soul. It embraces goodness and wellness through the healing acts of creativity, contiguous with god and dream.

It is a writing which has concentrated forms, and to the restless, makes contact with faith anchored in transcendent spirit. It embraces philosophy of dualities, balancing light and dark through poetry and prayer, existence and essence. Joyce white's poetry flies above life's fault line," says Sage.

One of Joyce's favorite sayings is, "He who fears he shall suffer, already suffers what he fears." She emphasizes that when we're busy doing something we love, we take fear out of the equation and begin focusing on hope. "Once we choose hope, everything is possible," she writes.

Joyce's books are available on Amazon.
