Jones Family Care, a newly established practice with a unique clinical setup, has chosen Waiting Room Solutions Family Care EHR and PM
Jones Family Care, LLC has selected the Waiting Room Solutions Family Care EHR and PM. As a newly established practice looking to serve a wide range of patients, the highly customizable Family Care Specialty EHR and PM will be able to develop with the practice's needs.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 28, 2010 - Goshen, New York- Waiting Room Solutions® (WRS) (www.waitingroomsolutions.com), a leading web-based EHR and PM provider, announced today that Jones Family Care, LLC has chosen the Waiting Room Solutions Family Care Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management System (PM) for implementation.
Jones Family Care, LLC, a practice owned by Robert Stramski, FNP, was recently opened in Jones, OK. The practice mainly operates as a small-town family care practice, but has also integrated a minor emergency clinic allowing walk-ins. Some of the minor emergency appointments include those for sutures, I&D and splinting, while the chronic appointments include those for DM, HTN, Lupus and CAD. With these unique offerings, Stramski intends to capture a large portion of chronic disease patients as well as Medicaid-covered children. Stramski, who is the sole full-time provider, works with between two and four part-time providers at a time. The WRS system will be the practice's first EHR solution, which Stramski chose based on its ease of usage, features and cost. With the implementation of this software, the practice will improve workflow throughout the scheduling, charting, billing and credentialing processes.
The Waiting Room Solutions Electronic Health Records and Practice Management System will prepare the practice to meet the "meaningful use" criteria as outlined by the Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Meeting these requirements will allow the practice to be eligible for the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) stimulus package incentive program.

Furthermore, the Waiting Room Solutions Family Care EHR and PM is specifically designed to maximize the efficiency of a family care practice. The system provides specialty templates for history of present illness, review of systems, drug prescription, and more. These point-and-click templates allow physicians to chart faster and reduce chart processing expenses. Due to the web-based nature of these patient records, they can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection. In addition to these features, WRS provides integrated Medicare PQRI and electronic prescribing incentive reporting, which will enable the practice to receive additional Medicare incentive payments under the ARRA. Lastly, the system offers automated ICD/CPT coding, increasing the uniformity and accuracy of medical records for both physicians and insurers. Through the implementation of the Waiting Room Solutions EHR for family care, Jones Family Care, LLC will set a strong base for its administrative, clinical, billing and network functions. The WRS system has a very customizable charting function, which will be invaluable in creating codes and templates for the practice's unique patient base. Stramski hopes to create his primary procedure and diagnosis codes as the practice develops and he gains more insight into what needs exist in the area. To start, he feels that primary care, minor ER and common internal medicine diagnoses should be present along with procedures such as injections, immunizations, EKG, blood work, and common x-rays; the WRS charting feature will allow him to adapt and add to these codes as he gets a stronger idea of the types of appointments he will be handling. Stramski has a similar philosophy regarding templates; he knows that minor ER, family practice and IM templates will all be necessary, but it is also important that he have the ability to create his own custom templates as he sees fit.
In addition to charting, Jones Family Care will benefit from the communication capabilities of the WRS software. The web-based software's ingoing and outgoing fax queues, lab interfaces, and e-prescribing abilities extend the practice's reach beyond its office walls. Stramski hopes to use these connections to quickly receive lab results, place them into patient charts, and transfer diagnoses to other providers. Although billing and credentialing will be handled through an external billing service, the service will be given access to the WRS system to facilitate the process and to ensure that all office functions remain integrated.
"As a new practice, Jones Family Care is in the process of finding out what opportunities for treatment exist in the area," said Dr. Lawrence Gordon, founder and CEO of Waiting Room Solutions. "Our software is flexible enough to develop and grow with the practice as it tailors its operations to best serve its emerging patient base."
