Mr. White's workshop is titled "Online Training Model Promotes Collaboration Among Resource Parents." The FPC internet-based workshop model pulls together foster parents from around the world to share ideas and collaborate on building an action plan to cope with a common behavioral problem in children. That model, developed as FPC Advanced Parenting Workshops, was tested for efficacy on 118 adoptive parents in the US. In this session, White will explain the workshop model and talk about the research and its implications for foster parent training.
Ms. Hostetter will be on hand to discuss FPC and the Certified Consultant Program. Certified Consultants are trained to provide a wide range of on-site, personal help to meet an agency's service needs. Both agency staff and independent consultants are encouraged to apply for the training.
