- (1888PressRelease) January 09, 2014 - By Adam Williams, LWM Media - These days Country Music singer-songwriter Johnny Jolin enjoys spending his time walking along the creek banks and the ridge lines of the hollowed Lycoming County woodlands in pursuit of big game and a slower pace of life. It has now been over a year since the performer's sudden step out of the spotlight with no new music released, no public performances or signs of emerging from his Pennsylvania retreat. While all this is true, it doesn't mean he's done forever. Last week I was able to connect with him over the phone for a Q/A session.
LWM Media: So Johnny, when can we expect new music?
Johnny Jolin: You know I love music. I always did and I always will. But right now I'm just enjoying spending time catching up on other things in my life that the music kept me from. I can see myself returning to radio and performing again at some point. But then again, maybe I won't. I want to just see where God is leading me and I'll follow.
LWM: You've toured around the world, shared the stage with some of Nashville's greatest, had hit songs on the radio. What's it like to just stop that kind of pace of life?
JJ: Its great actually. (laughs) Being a road warrior and touring all the time wears you down. Its a lot of fun, yes, but its also a whole lot of work. I don't think people realize just how much work it is. I'm right where I need to be right now.
LWM: Do you see yourself getting back into the studio anytime in the next few years?
JJ: Well to be honest, I already have been. I've recorded two new songs and have written several more than that. I just don't feel like its time to release anything yet. If I do release another project I am raising the bar higher than its ever been. Its not worth doing unless it kicks everything else I've ever done in the butt.
LWM: Can you share anything about those songs?
JJ: No not at this time. I'm not there yet.
LWM: How are you spending most of your time these days?
JJ: As you know, I'm a big outdoorsman. I love being in the woods. Other than that, I'm really enjoying just the simple, normal life of working on my house and mowing my yard and just being a normal everyday Joe. Its great!
LWM: Last question, what do you want Santa to bring you for Christmas?
JJ: (laughs) Hmmm. I guess I would really love a new tree climber. Something a little more safe to hunt from. The one I have right now is ancient and kind of a death trap. Yes, that'd be real nice. You hear that Santa?
LWM: Thanks so much for your time, I hope you have a great Christmas!
JJ: You too Adam, God bless. Merry Christmas to everybody out there!
