Abstract
For the past years, Antidumping (AD) and Countervailing (CV) duties have reshaped the competitive environment in the industry. AD and CV are used to discourage the demand for products deemed to be import sensitive by the United States Department of Commerce (DoC), and, are both used to protect the U.S manufacturing industry from extraneous underselling of U.S. manufacturers.
AD and CVD duties compensate for the damaging effects of goods imported at less than fair market value on the U.S. economy, however, it can become a costly responsibility for the importer.
