Event Synopsis:
In May 2016, the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016 ("Act") was passed into law to reform the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill (MTB) process. The Act launches a new process by which companies are allowed to request temporary tariff reductions or suspensions on imported goods. A request would be approved if there's no opposition from a US producer or member of the Congress and the total estimated revenue loss per reduction/suspension was estimated at less than $500,000. The Act will shift much of the tariff suspension and reduction responsibilities to the International Trade Commission (ITC).
In this LIVE Webcast, a panel of thought leaders assembled by The Knowledge Group will help the audience understand all the important issues and legal insights of the Revised Miscellaneous Tariff Bill under the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016. Speakers will provide an in-depth analysis of the recent developments, its implications and most of the critical issues surrounding this significant topic.
