  • (1888PressRelease) February 06, 2014 - Streaming live on the Co-Creator Radio Network on Tuesday, February 11, at 11am Pacific/2pm Eastern on "Why Shamanism Now? A Practical Path to Authenticity," shaman and founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing Christina Pratt notes that shamanic people believe that life emerges from a dream that the All-That-Is began dreaming in a time before time. Shamanic people speak of living in Oneness with all things and as contemporary people we are challenged to imagine that dream. But Pratt poses the questions: what if we were already living that dream? How would we act? How would we treat each other? How would we treat the earth?

In this week's episode of "Why Shamanism Now?", Pratt explores the topic of the upcoming Residential British Columbia Shamanic Conference and Gathering this May with her guest, Rev. Shaman John-Luke Edwards of the Wolven Path Tradition, a shamanic tradition rebirthed from nomadic shamanic traditions of northern Europe. Pratt and Edwards tell listeners how we can return to our roots, live our everyday lives in a good way with all living things, and allow the possibility of defining our dreams by the way that we live our lives.

Christina Pratt is a contemporary shaman specializing in mending the soul and transforming the parts of life that feel impossible. A teacher of exceptional clarity, humor, and inspiration, Pratt brings the power of shamanism into the practical grasp of anyone willing to take responsibility for improving the quality of their life. Her book An Encyclopedia of Shamanism clearly discusses the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples. Pratt is the founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing, creator of the original Foundations of Shamanism and Shamanic Healing course at the University of Minnesota, and a frequent and honored speaker for the American Holistic Medical Association.

Reverend Shaman John-Luke Edwards, MA, PhD is an ordained shaman of The Wolven Path, which is a rebirth of an ancient Celtic/Druidic form of shamanism. Developing his Shamanic practice and approach to life, Edwards instigated a three-year Shamanic Apprenticeship in British Columbia, Canada, and founded the Sacred Circle of The Great Mystery Shamanic Society in the same province. The Shamanic Society is founded to create, maintain and encourage a Shamanic Community and Network of many Shamanic traditions and families, focusing the work of Shaman & Shamanic Practitioners to the support of the Earth. Edwards believes that the issues in our lives that betray our destiny fall out of our fear of Divine loneliness that manifests in a dysfunctional relationship with ourselves and our soul song.

This relationship yearns for 'completion'. This yearning and dysfunction become reflected in all our external relationships. Edwards' approach is to be a catalyst in the transformation and emergence of truth in his Lamenters relationships with themselves and their souls; by this to return to that first harmonic intention we are born to and for.
