- State College, PA (1888PressRelease) January 27, 2012 - Shaner Corporation announces that John Knutson is joining the Construction, Design and Facilities Management Group as the new Corporate Chief Engineer.
John is a talented hands-on Engineer with over 25 years of experience, most of it in the hospitality industry. During his career, John has served as Chief Engineer for the Continental Companies (properties such as the Colonnade Hotel in Coral Gables, the Sheraton Key Largo Resort and the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club in Durham, NC) and the Davidson Hotel Company (properties include the Radisson Resort Deauville in Miami Beach and the Sheraton North Shore in Northbrook, IL). Most recently, he served as Director of Building Services for Adam's Mark Hotel Company and as Director of Engineering at the Sheraton Richmond West in Richmond, VA.
John's areas of expertise include preventative maintenance programs; training associates in fire, safety and HazMat situations, HVAC systems troubleshooting, and energy management systems. John joined the company on Monday, January 9, 2012 to work with the engineering teams at all the Shaner hotel properties and help manage key CDFMG initiatives.
